I think this will by far be my most stunning post to date: 97 pages from a Victorian French Bible, illuminated throughout, and with such artistry, it is breathtaking! Free for you to print at home!
To have no misunderstanding about it, the original file is uploaded by Boston Public Library to the internet site Open Library. I have merely found it there and selected the best pages for framing or crafting of all sorts!
You can see the original book with over 300 pages on Open Library. “Les évangiles des dimanches et fêtes de l’année” by Catholic Church. (English translation of the title: “The Gospels for Sundays and holidays of the year”)
Here are a few samples of what I have included in the downloadble PDF-file:
I’m sorry about the file size, it is big, due to the very richness of the images, and the high quality scans! But if you like pages like these, I assure you it is worth downloading 🙂
I also created a folder on my google drive with the individual JPG-images, click HERE to access my folder. The folder includes lots more images, I did not include many of the pure religious images in the first file, but they are in the folder, for those that would like to print them out (Totally the folder has 192 images). Put in frames, they would certainly make beautiful gifts for the right people 😀 The folder also includes a ZIP-file, if you want to download ALL the images in the folder in one go, as individual JPG-files (both easier to open in photoshop or other editing apps, and the resolution is better).
These file are free for your personal use and enjoyment 🙂
thank you so very much for these beautiful images. Most appreciated.
