I’m really having fun with the embroidered tags, so here is a second set for ya’ll, all hearts this time:
This is a few more stitches per tag than the letters from yesterday, so it might be a bit more challenging, maybe a total of about 15 mins. to embroider each tag? I used 6 different shades of peach and pink, but you can of course embroider these in any color you like 🙂
Here is a sample tag with the heart:
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Print the tags onto matte photo paper (mine is 170g paper) or cardstock
- Use a needle of something sharp to pierce all the white dots
- The red dots are guidelines to show you the symbols, they should all be covered with an X (one stitch)
- Embroider with floss or thin crochet thread (I used a variety of cotton crochet tread, some a bit too tick, some were just perfect!)
- Glue the sheet to a piece of thin cardboard, I used a cereal box and spray glue, let dry.
- Cut out the tags.
- Punch the holes, string and hang.
- (Optional: embellish your tag with anything you fancy)
- TADAH: Vintage Embroidered Cuteness 🙂

And these are just as beautiful as the first ones too, and the best part of these are, they can be used for anyone and still feel a little personal and saying with the little heart on them. Sooo sweet and cute too.
Thank you Dear Maryann 🙂 I have not accomplished much of what I had planned this weekend, but I have made some beautiful tags (enough for 2 more posts), and lots of digital embroidery elements that I can now use anywhere in my work 😀 I have not felt this happy and revitalized in a loong time 😀 I’ll post the 3rd set tomorrow, I think they are my favorites 🙂 xoxoxo
The heart tags would make great bookmarks. Could include one in a greeting card.
Great idea Julia Ann 🙂 I have a pile of tags, that I’ve been making, ready to gift and decorate, but I’m always short on bookmarks…lol Now I know how to combine the two!! 😀 xoxoxo
You offer many ideas for everyone so I’m glad I was helpful to you.
These are so cute. And such an easy project to teach my little one how to cross stitch. Love it – Thanks!!
YAY!! My girls have been embroidering these too, they are 10 and 11 and have tried a little bit of cross stitching before, these were the perfect size project for their patience 🙂 But they are a quick project for us too, and make lovely little gift tags 🙂 xoxoxo
