Does any of you have young girls in your families? If so, you are probably familiar with the constant showering “off the premises”? They need to shower after gym, after practise, when going to the pool… On top of that their backpacks are heavy enough with all the school books, AND my soap and shampoo bottles seem to disappear quicker than I can replace them…:-P
So I decided to make them some travel-sized bottles with customized labels:
And some large glas bottles in our family bath room, for them to refill their little ones:
When these were ready, I told the girls to await taking them to school until I had taken a proper picture of them. I wanted the second travel set to be on the right, displaying Guro’s bottles out of the little plastic purse… but what do you know, when I was ready to take the picture, the second set had disappereared… she told me she “forgot” about waiting…lol I choose to believe she like it so much that she could not wait to show it to her friends in school… 😀
And here are the customizable tags for you to enjoy too:
The labels fit regular size (large) bottles. For the travel size bottles I recommend printing two copies to a page, so the size is about halved.
Waterproofing (or at least protecting) is an issue with these. I recommend printing on a high temperature printer (not a laser printer) and coating the labels with several coats of varnish, preferably on both sides, before gluing them to the bottles. I used double sided tape to attach my labels, and stuck the labels right on top of the ones that were on the bottles already.
I have seen travel sets before without labels, I’d go for those if you have the option 😉 Or save small plastic bottles when you find them, and revamp them into these 🙂 Cheap travel sets like mine are sold several places, take a look at your local drug store or dollar store 😉
Don’t you think a customized travel set would make a cute “handmade” gift too?
In the download folder you will find both a PDF file (which you can customize with your chosen name and/or wording), a jpg file where the labels are just saying Soap, Shampoo and Balsam, and a blank version with just the labels on a ready printable sheet.
HOW TO CUSTOMIZE THE PDF-FILE ONLINE:
When you go to the download folder, click the file that says CustomizableRoseLabels_WingsofWhimsy.pdf.
The following window will open:
Click on the prin icon on the top menu (I have marked it red on the screenshot). The file is large, since it contains the text information, so it might take a few seconds to load onto your screen. When it is ready, the communication window with your printer will appear on top, close that down! Underneath you will now see the customizable sheet, ready for your input:
On this example I have added the words “Homemade with love” on the top label, notice how the field for writing is light blue. The next one is empty, with the prompt ready to write. Once you have entered your text of choice, click on the print icon found in the bottom right corner of the screen 😀 You can also download your customized version to save on your computer for later use.
These files are free for your personal use and enjoyment. Go to the download folder below to grab your high quality copies 🙂

I have used the following elements for this design:
I sound boring maybe, but I just can’t thank you enough for all the pretty things you share and which bring so much joy day in day out! You’re amazing! This design will match in my house just perfect! I need to buy more ink for my printer LOL. You sure keep me going here, hehehe. Thank you again for sharing these gorgeous labels!

Oh Hunny, you will never ever be boring, that word should not even exist in your vocabulary! 😉 😀 I’m happy you can use these, hope the font works for you as I’ve had others report that it does not show the way I intended it too :-O It is a font called Eccentric Std. that I apparently got with my Adobe Suit, and it’s not “standard”, thus the PDF-file will change it to the most comparable font on your computer, it could be Helvetica, if you don’t have lots of fonts installed…:-O (I personally think Helvetica is a very sad and boring font… but others might like it…lol) If you use the plain jpg-file (and not customize the labels) you avoid the problem! But creating the customizable file was sort of my main idea with these labels… duh! Please let me know how it goes, if you get around to printing these. xoxoxo
Hi Gunnvor Karita,
Oh I didn’t even notice that ‘font’-thing, but I went to the file immediately to check and indeed it doesn’t match at uses another font instead. Though…….. you can download the Eccentric font for free here: http://fontzone.net/download/eccentric You did great on the labels and the convenience to customize them yourself! Keep up the good work LOL. There are so many free pretty fonts available that i’m sure that won’t be a problem at all! I am now going to print them 🙂 I think I will use them on my drawers in my craftroom!

Thank you Dear, for pointing me to the free Eccentric Font 🙂 I have updated the pintable to that font, so if anyone want to use the PDF and the font is not displaying correctly, at least they can now download it for free and make it work 🙂 xoxoxo
