The Christmas ornament set I’m sharing with you today is made with tart tins, by Iris in New York State, USA for me, situated in the middle of Fjord Norway:
I love the “floating image” on one of these ornaments, again the use of Christmas beads/berries, and of course the tissue paper lining! So, so gorgeous, ad definitely adding to my Christmas treasure 😀
I’ve been examining Iris’ tart tin ornaments, now that I can get a real life look at them, and I believe the backs of her tart tins were treated with chalk paint, then dark wax, then lightly sanded so the metal is again shining trough in small patches… Iris: if (when) you are reading this, please let me know if I’m guessing correctly?
Thank you so very, very much Dear Iris, I am so glad even my ornaments arrived well in time for Christmas, although they had to fly far far away 😀
Iris also sent me a ceramic(?) altered star, it’s almost like she knew my desktop tree was lacking a proper tree topper:
So here it is, my desktop Christmas tree with the ornaments I received from both Dianne and Iris 🙂 I have kept it in my office all December, and many of my colleagues have commented upon the beatiful hand made ornaments 😀 Several of them have also encouraged me to pursue my dream of making such ornaments to sell 😉
The last set of ornaments on this tree is the set I made last year (click on image below to go to the original post and download the printables):
Did you miss out on the planning of this swap? This is what my swappers signed up for back in September:
- Each swap is for a set of 3 ornaments. Either 1 tart tin swap or 1 cookie cutter swap, swapped with one swap buddy
- Deadline November 15th to craft your ornaments, take pictures and get the packages ready
- Send pictures to me of the finished ornaments
- Alert me when the swapped ornaments arrive at their new home
