The next frame in my seed catalog series, is really a whole 1898 Cole’s seed catalog cover, reinvented to a twin frame with bright Pansies:
I used a portrait from the Petrine Wiik Collection, wouldn’t it be kewl if this turns out to be Petrine’s parents? I don’t know (yet) who they are, but here’s to hoping!
You may use the Petrine Wiik Collection images too, for your personal artwork, click on my badge below to download images from the collection:
And here is a low resolution of the page ready for you to use as a frame for your own photos:
And finally a preview of the original 1898 Cole’s seed catalog covers

I used elements from the following sources for these designs:
Dear Gunnvor,
My Grandmother, her siblings and her parents settled in Pella, Iowa when they came over to the United States from Holland in the mid-1800s! Then they pioneered in a covered wagon out to Santa Fe Springs, California (the suburbs of Los Angeles). Later settling in Rosemead. That’s where my grandparents met and my father was born, one of 8 children.
So I’m excited about using this/these old images in something for the family.
Thanks again for sharing your ‘finds’ with us.
Awww!!! It is totally worth posting my frames here if I know only ONE person will use them, other than myself 🙂 I’d love to see a picture, when you are done! xoxoxo
