I have just watched Queen Victoria‘s 3xgreat grandson Prince Carl Philip of Sweden marry his beloved Sofia Hellqvist:
Sofia Hellqvist was made Princes of Sweden upon her marriage. “Grattis” is the Swedish word for congratulations. So if you are like me, you might want to welcome the new Princess and celebrate the Swedish Royal Wedding with my “GRATTIS” banner 🙂
Sofia wore a brand new tiara, not previously seen on any of the Swedish Royal Ladies. I’m sure we will hear more about this tiara soon, wether it is another vintage tiara purchased for Sofia, or if is newly made and perhaps designed by Prince Carl Philip.
If you are curious about my Pretty Data project, and interested in the Victorian and Edwardian eras, please get in touch, as I’m still hoping to sign up more helpers with my project! Warning: you’d have to be pretty crazy about imagery, somewhat interested in history, and have a (more or less secret) crush on royalty!…lol
You can print the individual flags on A4-sheets for a really large garland, two pages per sheet for a medium size garland, or choose 4 flags per sheet for a small garland (the garland in my pictures is the small size).
I used the font Baskerville that came with my photoshop for this design. If you like the font, there is a free version called Libre Baskerville available on Fontsquirrel. It is a classical font, designed in 1724.
The printables are free for your personal use and enjoyment. Please go to the folder below to download high quality copies:
