I’m sure you all knew you can write with chalk on Zinc surfaces? I took one of my old zinc trays, that I previously used for candles, and repurposed it into a door sign for my deck:

It says “Sol i hjertet” – a line from a Norwegian children’s song about the sun, and it means “sun in the heart”. I thought it fit well for my revamped deck 🙂
I also hung a few of my glas marble rose magnets, I made those for Christmas actually, but never got around to sharing them with you…:-P
The Door Hammer is a single strand of crystals and glas beads, paired with another vintage Norgesglass band (Norwegian Mason Jar). They are positioned so the largest crystal knocks on the band and make a lovely sound when you “knock on the door” 🙂
To hang my tray, I simply took a soda pop can tab and glued it to the back with my glue gun, I used a generous amount of glue, both underneath and on top to make sure it stays. I also twisted it around a little before the glue hardened, to tilt it slightly from the tray, creating the room for it to hang.
The deck is getting more and more ready, I hope to be able to open the door for a full tour very soon…lol
