One of the typical, traditional decorations on a Norwegian Christmas tree is the Norwegian Flag Bunting:
They are not always easy to find at the stores, and they can be quite pricy! I also expect that they might be hard to come by abroad, if you want to decorate your tree the Norwegian Style, so I whipped up a sheet of 16 Norwegian Mini Flags for you to quickly make your own:
Print these on white card stock, I use Canon Matte Photo paper (160g). Then score in the middle of both columns of flags, cut the flags apart, fold them in half (to make two-sided flags) and glue them together with twine sandwiched in between. Traditionally the twine is the regular beige type, but I think they look extra cute with red&white bakers twine 🙂
For a regular size Christmas tree, you probably need to make about 4 buntings of 16 flags, to wrap you entire tree properly “the Norwegian way” in these 🙂
You can also glue the flags to long (metal) sewing pins, to use on the traditional Kransekake:
The files are free for your personal use and enjoyment. Go to the download folder below to grab your high quality copies 🙂
