Vintage Woven Christmas Heart Basket – Part 8

The patterns of the Christmas Hearts can easily be intermixed. This is the second set of smaller hearts, where 4 small heart pieces are fitted onto one sheet, meaning if you print out 2 sheets, you will have enough pieces to weave 4 hearts:

I used my Christmas Hearts for a Christmas Workshop for the international students at our University College, and although I showed many times the clever way to cut and assemble these, they kept doing it the slow and time consuming way… so I suggest you read the instructions thoroughly and follow them, they are put together to save you time and effort:

  • Print on regular (thin) printer paper (I used 80g paper)
  • Cut the handles apart from the heart pieces
  • Score on the middle line of each of the two heart pieces
  • Fold in half on the scored line
  • Cut out the heart pieces
  • Cut out the slits on each heart piece
  • Weave one heart piece into the other
  • Attach the handle, either with glue, or you can use brads like I did

In Norway these are mostly used to decorate the Christmas Tree, but you can also see them in windows, or strung as bunting. I used mine to create a wall Christmas Tree in my office 😀

    1. My Dear! I hope you were able to make some of the hearts, even if you only had time during the Christmas days – once they are made, you can bring them out for decorating next year and in the years to come 😉 xoxoxo
