The Univesitätsbibliothek Heidelberg offers a wonderful digital collection of antique books, in high quality, readily available for anyone with just a little basic knowledge of German. From their collection, I have worked to digitally enhance a French book from 1810, featuring numerous arabesques:
The book is credited to Alexandre Lenoir, who single handedly resqued vast historic art values during the French revolution! This is about half of the plates from the book, the download folder also includes the enhanced second half of the plates in very high quality files. The size of these files allows you to print these poster-size if you wish!
The files are free for your personal use and enjoyment. Go to the download folder below to grab your high quality copies 🙂
