Vintage Christmas Village – DAY 1 – free printables

I’ve been busy designing 🙂 🙂 🙂 And I’m finally ready to share my huge vintage Christmas project with you peeps 😀

Wings of Whimsy: Vintage Christmas Village - DAY 1 - free printables #vintage #victorian #ephemera #cottage #cherub #tree

It is an entire Christmas Village! With 24(25) different cottages & snow cherubs. And an assortment of different Christmas trees, in 3 different sizes 😀 😀 😀 Can you only count 18 cottages on the picture? Yes that is true, the last few have not made it from my desktop to real life yet… 😉

Christmas Trees in 3 different sizes, the smallest size is made by printing 2 copies of the medium size to one page.Wings of Whimsy: Vintage Christmas Village - DAY 1 - free printables #vintage #victorian #ephemera #cottage #cherub #tree

4 different styles of trees has made it through my design loophole so far, I’m testing another few, and at least 2 more styles will be added asap 🙂

The printables will be posted little by little, so I can make proper credit to all the sources I have used 🙂 For starters I have added the Sheet Music Christmas Trees and the first Christmas Cottage:

All the printable files will be added in one spot here:

When the above download folder is complete, it will contain everything you see here, AND MORE 😀 Creating this village has been a ginormous effort, so I’d be thrilled if you take the time to leave a little love when grabbing your copies 🙂

These files are free for your personal use and enjoyment 🙂

I have used the following elements for todays designs:

Little Paper Houses – Just Something I Made

Christmas Label – The Graphics Fairy

Victorian Florals – Deeper Than All Roses

Sheet Music – Wings of Whimsy

Snow Cherub – Le Tric Le Croc La Brad

  1. Your little village and trees are adorable and I wanted to make some but when I download the patterns, they don’t fit on the page. What am I missing?

    1. Thank you so much Sharon 🙂 They pages will fit on A4 size paper (international paper) if you are using anything else, you may have to play with your printers settings for best results 😛

      1. A4 paper size is 210mm x 297mm, or 8.267 inches x 11.692 inches.
        Letter paper size is 215.9mm x 279.4mm, or 8.5 inches x 11 inches.

    1. Thank you very much 🙂

I’ve spent all morning taking pictures. In Norway we have little daylight this time of year, so during the week I’m always at work, in the few good hours… Finally today I had a chance, and there is a storm outside, so no proper daylight even today… 😛 At least I was able to borrow a good camera for this shoot, had I only been patient enough to use the tripod too…lol! I still think they look cute, I might take more pictures when the daylight decides to cooperate…;-)

Now I’m preparing more posts for the next days, I hope you will be back for more cottages, cherubs and trees for a complete Christmas Village 😀

  2. This village is fantastic! Thank you very much for giving us this. It will be such a beautiful decoration for Christmas time.

    1. Thank you 🙂 These are super easy to make, I print them on glossy photopaper (the cheapest kind) and glue them together with my glue gun 🙂 My girls (age 9 and 10) are making these in mere minutes 😀 (I’m of course operating the glue gun, but they cut, score and fold. And they love to embellish theirs, a lot more than I do…lol! Theirs will sometimes be a bit crooked, but that is part of the charm 😀 I try to write their names inside or have them add it themselves, and I’m sure they will be treasured Christmas decorations when they grow older 🙂 Good luck, and please let me know how it goes!

    1. Thank you very much 🙂 I’ve posted almost half the cottages now, but I’m sure you have already seen that in the download folder 😉 There’s still lots more goodies to come in this series 😀

  3. This is an amazing set. Thank you for sharing your talent with us! I love the variety of the houses as well as the trees. You can make a more antique looking set, or a more modern set based on the combination of trees and homes. I cannot believe the amount of time you have put into this project. Many, many thanks. I don’t know if I have time this year to make all of them, but I think they would be perfect to send to my 4 kids in college. They could make their own little winter scene on their desks. It would bring a little bit on the holiday spirit to them as they study for exams. Thank you so much for sharing!

    1. Thank you very much 🙂 How fun that your kids will be getting these for Christmas spirit during their exam periods 🙂 Last night I assembled the last 7 of the 25 sets, it took me about 1 hour. So less than 10 minutes per cottage… but then I have a bit of practice, as I have made quite a few by now…lol! I sometimes do the cutting right in my lap, like other people knit, that way I can work on it even if I’m being social…:-P

  4. Wow how super sweet of you to do all the hard work and share with us. You could be making $off of each one of us and you chose not to! I’m using the whole village and every tree for a table at our church CHRISTmas party!!! I will be sure to have all the girls check you out!!!!! Again thank you and God Bless you and yours
    Sherrie Sledge

    1. Dear Sherrie,

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Your comment put tears in my eyes, and Christmas spirit in my heart 🙂 I do not create any of this for the money, I am merely sharing the stuff I create for myself and my family and friends.

I would love to see both the crafting process and your finished village, would you be willing to take pictures and send to me by email? My girls (age 9 and 10) are a big part of my design and crafting activity, and they have been making these houses with me all year. I know they would be thrilled to see that “our” creations are being enjoyed somewhere else in the world 😀

  5. These are delightful! Thank you for sharing them. I plan to place the village around my computer at work.

    1. Such a wonderful idea 🙂 I took a small plate with one set in to work, and put it on the table in our lunchroom. That small decoration gives a lot of Christmas cheer 🙂 xoxoxo

  6. Gunnvor,

Thank you so much for sharing your creative talents with us, these are so beautiful! I received six of the little houses as a gift from my secret pal in a gift exchange earlier this month, and was blown away by how pretty they were, she was kind enough to include your blog address so I had to download a few more myself to finish decorating my tree with them. I am also going to use a couple of them as gift boxes to put treats in for a neighbors two girls, I may even take a couple templates for them to cut out, put together and decorate themselves.
Once again, Thank You so much for sharing these with us. I will definitely share your site with my friends!

    Sheila

    1. Dear Sheila,

I am so thrilled to hear all that, I love to think that my little creations are enjoyed by others, and I will be sure to tell my two little girls about it. They are a big part of both coming up with ideas for projects, choosing styles, helping me test what works and not, and encouraging me to post our projects here to share with others 🙂 Merry Christmas to both you and your secret gift exchange pal 😀

    1. Thank you Jaye 🙂 They are easy to make and make a lovely decor 🙂 Make them now, during the Christmas days, and create little displays, and then next year use them on the tree 😀 xoxoxo

  11. Thank you for sharing such beautiful work with us. You and your daughters must be so pleased with it all. I cant wait for my grandchildren to vist on holiday and we can make some of them together. I am sure they will love them to. Hugs Eileen.

    1. Thank you so much Eileen! And I’m very sorry about my belated answer, I have had to srot through some internet issues the past few weeks, and I’m finally able to catch up on all my messages 😉 I hope you’r girls will enjoy these as much as my girls did, and still do! These tiny houses has become almost an obsession to us, we make them in all sorts of papers and patterns, all year round 😀 The girls love making them, embellishing with loads of glitter beads and stickers, and then using them when gifting cash, in all those birthday parties they are constantly invited to! And I love it too, them being able to gift wrap the (boring but much appreciated) cash in a personalized and unusual way 😀 xoxoxo

  12. Thank you. Thank you. Beautiful! I do have a question about how to put the trees together, though. thanks again
