I love the amazing Flickr pages of pillpat (agence eureka)! Not only has she thousands of vintage French items, she shares them willingly with the world! According to copyright laws these images now belong in public domain, and in my opinion s-h-o-u–l-d belong to all of us. But it is not thereby said that anyone is willing to do the ginormous work of scanning, aligning, cropping, uploading and managing them on the internet, so thank you pillpat and everyone else that is willing to share like this!!
Today I have worked with the back cover page of the 1875 book “Bébé Devient Savant”. I don’t speak French (although I’m utterly in love with the language, and sincerely believe I will live in southern France when I get old) so I used google translate for this title, and figured it should mean something along “baby becomes learned” so I guess it’s a book for small children.
I fell in love with the swirls! So indeed I have isolated them into a seamless tile:
and worked with some PNG variations (transparent backgrounds) – these are also well suited as tiles, to print on textured paper, or layer with other designs:
Notice how pretty the last version will be as a frame 🙂 You can either grab my gilded version, or the black one that you can color yourself in photoshop or other software!
And here are some papers with these digital elements, I included the original book cover with the download:
The files are free for your personal use and enjoyment.
I have used the following elements for these designs:
1875 Bébé Devient Savant – pillpat (agence eureka)
French Postcard Seamless Tile – Wings of Whimsy
I love these tiled designs, thank you.
Thank you 🙂 I have now added one more tile (the middle star) and some various papers I made with these. I’m starting to prepare for the royal baby, thinking baby colors and what fun we can come up with for the birth…lol
Thanks for sharing with everyone.
You are welcome 🙂
Thanks so much for sharing! They’re very pretty!
Thank you very much 🙂
These are beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing them.
Thank you, I hope you are able to use them for something pretty 🙂 I’m pondering something to celebrate the Royal Baby, it should be any day now 🙂
